Bring a Little Magic into someone's life: Become a Big
Think back to when you were a kid. Who was the person, other than a parent, who brought a little magic into your life, just by being there?

By becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister, you can be that person in the life of a child. And you will build treasured memories through a friendship that will change your life, and a child's, forever.

A Big Brother or Big Sister can open a world of possibilities and opportunities for a young person simply by being a genuine friend. Our Bigs consistently say that they get even more out of their friendship than the Littles, and our Littles grow into adults who want to be involved themselves and help another child.

Over 200 kids children, ranging from age 6 to 14, consistantly wait for a Big throughout the county in the various programs. Teachers, parents, school counselors, and kids continue to refer someone's inclusion. Many are waiting now, with some boys waiting longer than 2 years.

Big Brothers Big Sisters
of Southwest Idaho have a wonderful PSA, that is just as prudent here in Snohomish County.

Contact us here locally, and we'd be glad to help you find someone to help you through your spare time.

Read the FAQ for new mentors, or read a testimonial of a Big's experience.

For Volunteers & Program participants

Your experience with the program has the potential for helping more kids. Through your wisdom and leadership, you can employ your story in any way to help build a brighter future for all kids. Ways you can get involved are:

  • Resident Experts- At your place of employment share your insights with curious co-workers. Hang flyers in the breakroom, and invite a Speaker to a staff meeting.
  • Speakers Bureau- Become the mobile ambassador, and "Voice of the Waiting Little." Join networking events, speaking engagements, workplace presentations and share the story of your match and how much it benefits you and your Little.
  • Leadership- Your involvement through the years makes a great case for the need of your leadership. You have something to add, and your colleagues would really enjoy you helping to lead. Whether Auction, BFKS, Activities, Fundraising, or Recruiting, there is a committee with your seat waiting for your leadership.

For Volunteer Training Opportunities

Big Brothers and Big Sisters must complete trainings before and after they are matched. BBBS also provides ongoing support through a monthly group called "Big Interactions." Schedule your training now!
