BFKS Success!

Bragging rights were on the line, inter-departmental rivalries were fierce, with the pizza and "rock & bowl" providing the backdrop.

EVERETT, WA May 5, 2008 -- Nearly 400 members of a caring community came to Glacier Lanes to support the youth mentoring programs of Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) the weekend of May 3 & 4. Everyone there knew why they were there, and shook the walls with a loud, "Bowl For Kids Sake"!

These citizens supported children with over $40,000 raised over the weekend, and several companies are matching funds, and yet to be collected. Kids hoping for a Big are crossing their fingers that as much as $45,000 comes in.

New faces helped make this a success for local children. New BFKSers are:

Boston’s Restaurants from Mill Creek,
BECU from Marysville,
Alpine Mortgage,
North County Bank,
Snohomish County Sheriff’s Department, and
The Lynnwood Keg.

Boeing employees, a genuine "rock" throughout the years of BFKS, had 31 teams and raised over $19,000 – breaking all records for the last four years!

The Everett Clinic employees fielded five more teams this year than last with 15 teams, and raised over $7,700.

Cascade Bank employees answered the call with two more teams than last year. 9 teams raised $5,189

Employees, friends and families of the following participated this year:

Just Littles

Big thanks to NW Screenprinting, Alfy's Pizza, Auntie Anne's, and Glacier Lanes for great BFKS Sponsorship.
